Abstract

Since the last survey on population genetics (Progr. Bot. 38, 230 (1976) no spectacular advances are to be mentioned. Actual progress is achieved by many small steps, such as the improvement of a model by omitting a restricting assumption or the extension of a single-(two-) locus model to a more realistic multilocus model. The controversy between the selectionists and the neutralists is still going on.
