Zusammenfassung
Im Jahre 1909 wurden von Correns an Mirabilis jalapa und von Baur an Pelargonium zonale erstmals nichtmendelnde Vererbungsphänomene beschrieben. Damit stellte sich die Frage nach Erbinformationsträgern außerhalb des Zellkerns. Heute wissen wir, daß für die extranucleäre Vererbung in erster Linie die DNS der Mitochondrien und Piastiden verantwortlich ist.
