Zusammenfassung
Das Studium hirnbioelektrischer Erscheinungen begann gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, als der englische Physiologe Caton zeigen konnte, daß sich die intakte Hirnrinde gegenüber einer verletzten Stelle elektropositiv verhält. Es folgten dann sehr bald Beiträge von Fleischel von Marxow, Beck sowie Danielewski. Aber die damals übliche Registriertechnik zum Nachweis bioelektrischer Vorgänge führte zu vielen Widersprüchen. Es ist deshalb nicht verwunderlich, wenn nur wenige Forscher zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts sich mit diesem Problem erneut beschäftigten (Kaufmann, Tschirjef, Neminski). Der erste Bericht über detaillierte Ergebnisse elektrobiologischer Erscheinungen der Hirnrinde, welche experimentell gewonnen wurden, wurde von Prawdicz-Neminski (1925) vorgelegt.
