Abstract

Effective use of visible laser diodes often requires detailed knowledge of their complex operating characteristics. Important operating characteristics include light output and forward voltage versus drive current (L/l and V/l), internal monitor photodiode tracking ratio, spectral properties, and far-field pattern. Since these characteristics vary substantially with temperature, evaluation over a range of temperatures is usually desirable.
