Clinical Management of Hodgkin’s Disease

Abstract

In recent years a certain balance of opinion has been reached with respect to the management of the protean forms of this disease. The benefits of more modern forms of therapy are generally acknowledged and uniform treatment patterns have emerged. Results can be anticipated with greater certainty and prognosis is more accurate (Karnofsky et al., 1966). An important aspect of planned treatment is that damage is avoided and the patients’ immunological status is unimpaired, since these factors are of essential importance in the determination of survival times.
