Abstract

The use of radioactive isotopes as a scientific tool has in later years found wide-reaching applications. This is due to the fact that the radioactive isotopes have the same chemical and physical properties as stable isotopes of the same element, and as they emit radiation which permit us to identify and locate them. Thus the radioactive isotopes may serve as indicators or tracers in the study of chemical and physical processes.
