Part of the book series: Management Forum ((MANAGEMENT FOR.))

Abstract

This contribution presents three different basic options with regard to company objectives, the organization to achieve them, and the implications of both for the role and functioning of managers. These basic options are based on different views of the employee and of the environment and constitute different points on a continuum from a rather simple, unidimensional (economic) to a complex, multi-dimensional (economic, ecological, social and societal) approach.
