Zusammenfassung
Die flexible Fertigung ist durch eine zunehmende Automatisierung mit dezentralen Systemen gekennzeichnet. Mehrprozessortechnik, Transaktionssicherung, Fehlertoleranz, Objektorientierung und das Streben nach einem einheitlichen Betriebssystem sind Architekturmerkmale für zukünftige universelle Rechnersysteme. Ein industrielles Kommunikationsnetz verbindet die dezentralen Systeme untereinander. Standardisierung und Normung sind Voraussetzung für die breite Anwendung der Kommunikation.
