Zusammenfassung

Die radikale Pankreaschirurgie ist über 50 Jahre alt. Totale Pankreatektomien beim Menschen wurden jedoch erst seit den 40er Jahren in größerem Umfang durchgeführt (Einzelheiten siehe Creutzfeldt, Kern, Kümmerle und Schumacher). Die Hauptindikationen zu diesem Eingriff, bei dem meistens auch das Duodenum, die Milz und ein Teil des Magens mit entfernt werden müssen, sind maligne Pankreastumoren, selten Inselzelladenome oder Inselzellkarzinome oder eine mit unbeeinflußbaren Schmerzen einhergehende chronische Pankreatitis.
