Abstract

Over the past several years, a new field of interest has emerged in coherent and nonlinear optics. This field includes the possibility of performing operations in real time and with low-power lasers on the phase and on the amplitude of optical wavefronts. The use of such nonlinear interactions has resulted in numerous new applications, such as phase-conjugate wavefront generation, image transmission and amplification, optical resonators.
