Zusammenfassung
Die Umsetzung motorischer Forschungsergebnisse, die von der Neurophysiologie vorgelegt wurden, in die Sportpraxis erfolgte bisher nur in unzureichendem Ausmaß. Das hat seine Ursache in einer Reihe von Problemen, die für das Verhältnis zwischen Praktikern und Wissenschaftlern typisch sind. So werden von den Praktikern Forschungsergebnisse nicht beachtet, weil infolge mangelndem gemeinsamem Begriffsvokabular und Kenntnisstand die Kommunikation außerordentlich erschwert ist oder die Ergebnisse der theoretischen Forschung zwar empirisch abgesichert, aber nicht an größeren Populationen oder gar Spitzensportlern validiert wurden. Die Wissenschaftler arbeiten häufig an Detailproblemen und publizieren die Ergebnisse in Fachzeitschriften, die dem Trainer und Sportlehrer nicht zugänglich sind. Das läßt den Eindruck aufkommen, daß es sich für die Praxis um unwichtige Erkenntnisse handelt. Eine Möglichkeit zur Verbesserung dieser Situation besteht in der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit zwischen Medizinern, in diesem Falle Neurophysiologen, und Sportwissenschaftlern, wie sie beispielsweise im Rahmen der Herz-Kreislaufforschung schon seit Jahren erfolgreich praktiziert wird.
