Zusammenfassung
Obwohl der Mitose nur die relativ einfache Frage zugrunde zu liegen scheint, wie das Erbgut der Zelle in Chromosomen verpackt und auf die Tochterzellen verteilt werden kann, türmt sich ein kaum noch übersehbarer Komplex von Problemen auf, sobald man nach den zellphysiologischen Voraussetzungen fragt und den Mechanismus erfahren möchte, der den Vorgang der Mitose kontrolliert und in den Lebensablauf der Zelle einordnet. Das umfangreiche, heute über die Mitose und ihre Beziehungen zur Physiologie der Zellteilung vorliegende Wissensgut wurde bereits von D. Mazia [47] erschöpfend behandelt. Ober die Kontrolle der Zellteilung liegt eine umfangreiche und alle wesentlichen Fragen besprechende Abhandlung von M. M. Swann [74] vor. Die Kontrolle der DNA-Biosynthese hat erst kürzlich K. G. Lark [40] unter Berücksichtigung aller einschlägigen Fragen vorzüglich dargestellt. Im vorliegenden Referat können daher nur noch einige erst in allerletzter Zeit erarbeitete enzymatische Aspekte des in der Vorbereitung zur Mitose ablaufenden cellulären Geschehens behandelt werden mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der Frage, wie enzymatische Prozesse reguliert werden können. Da aber enzymatische Umsetzungen in nahezu allen Teilstrecken des genannten Prozesses enthalten sind, muß dem Referat eine noch weitergehende Beschränkung auferlegt werden. Es sollen nur die an der DNA-Synthese direkt und indirekt beteiligten Enzyme behandelt werden; eine vollständige Erfassung der Literatur ist infolge des beschränkten Umfangs des Referats nicht möglich.
