Die Salzsäure des Handels stellt Lösungen des Chlorwasserstoffgases in Wasser dar. Man unterscheidet 1) reine Salzsäure, 2) rohe Salzsäure. Ausserdem werden die einzelnen Sorten nach dem Procentgehalt an Chlorwasserstoff HCl, bez. nach dem spec. Gewichte bezeichnet.
