Zusammenfassung

Als mögliche Komplizierung einer chronischen, primär abakteriellen interstitiellen Nephritis erfordern bakterielle Infektionen der Niere bzw. ableitenden Harnwege eigenständige diagnostische und therapeutische Überlegungen; denn der Harnwegsinfekt ist oft erster diagnostischer Hinweis auf das Vorliegen einer bis dahin unbemerkten chronischen Nephro- oder Uropathie, kann die Progredienz einer Niereninsuffizienz bis zur terminalen Urämie beschleunigen und ist einer Behandlung durch Chemotherapie oder Beseitigung disponierender Risikofaktoren zuganglich und damit von EinfluB auf die Prognose des renalen Grundleidens [43, 46].
