Zusammenfassung
Myambutol führt in einer Dosierung von 25 mg /kg (und mehr) nach Monaten in etwa 1 ½ % der Fälle zu Augenbeteiligungen im Sinne einer retrobulbären Neuritis, seltener einer staubförmigen zentral-parazentralen Pigmentverschiebung in der Netzhaut und seltener zu Gefäßveränderungen (vorübergehenden Blutungen). Ein Zentralskotom kann monatelang bestehen, ohne daß es zu einer ophthalmoskopisch sichtbaren Veränderung kommt. Es kann später zur weitgehenden Wiederherstellung der Funktion mit normaler Papille oder zum bleibenden Skotom mit temporaler Abblassung kommen.
