Summary

The entoptical functional test (vessel-figure of Purkinje and maculachagrin) was experimented upon 136 persons, among them 65 patients with cataract.

The usability of this test is good with intelligent and younger patients. A great deal of the patients in older age, however, is overcharged.

Therefore, a special significance must not be put on the missing particularly of the maculachagrin when giving indication of extraction of a cataract, for the maculachagrin was not discovered in nearly half of all the cases though 84% of our cataract patients had a good central sight after operations and achieved the ability to read.

Résumé

L’expériment fonctionelle entoptique fut exécuté chez 136 patients, entre eux 65 avec une cataracte. Cette exploration est pratiquable quand il s’agit des patients intelligents et assez jeunes mais c’est un surmenage pour une grande partie des patients plus âgés. Avant tout le manquement du maculachagrin est sans importance pour l’indication de l’extraction de la cataracte car dans la moitié de tous les cas le maculachagrin ne fut pas reconnu quoique chez 84% de nos cataractes l’acuité visuelle centrale fût bonne et que la faculté de lire fût atteinte.
