Die Frage, ob und wann ein Kranker mit einem erworbenen Herzklappenfehler invasiv abgeklärt werden soll, kann nur im Hinblick auf ihre Konsequenzen, in umsichtiger und einfühlender ärztlicher Führung des Patienten beantwortet werden. Der Entscheid für oder gegen eine operative oder differenzierte, konservative weitere Behandlung ist immer verantwortungsvoll.
