Abstract
In order to understand the physical properties of polymers and biopolymers it is most helpful to develop a molecular model fundamentally based on chemical structure and molecular potentials, which quantitatively explains all the experimental evidence of molecular order (microstructure) and of superstructure in the crystalline and amorphous state as well as of molecular motion (relaxation-strengths and -rates).
