Zusammenfassung

Der lebende Organismus besitzt die Fähigkeit der Bakterizidie. Er vermag Mikroorganismen, die durch die Haut und Schleimhäute in das Zellgefüge und in Lymphe und Blut gelangen, durch ein Kräftespiel zu vernichten, das zu-sammengefaßt als Bakterizidie bezeichnet wird, wozu Mikroorganismen in weitem Sinne, also auch Virus und Protozoen gehören. In Wirklichkeit ist die Bakterizidie sehr komplexer Natur. Sie umfaßt zelluläre und humorale Vorgänge, die für sich, aber auch in Zusammenwirkung tätig sind. Die hier im folgenden erörterten bakteriziden Vorgänge berücksichtigen in erster Linie humorale Prozesse, die entweder als „spezifisch“auf das Wirken von natürlichen oder auch immunisatorisch entstandenen spezifischen Antikörpern beruhen oder in einem allgemeinen Sinne unspezifischer Art sind. Scharf lassen sich die Begriffe spezifisch und unspezifisch nicht trennen. Im Grunde benötigt jeder biologisch auf eine Mikrobenzelle in bakterizidem Sinne wirkende Eingriff eine Affinität zu einer Eezeptorstelle, und je nachdem das Substrat des Eezeptors bei Mikroorganismen ganz vereinzelt oder mehr oder weniger verbreitet vorkommt, ist die sogenannte Spezifität des bakteriziden Vorganges streng spezifisch oder in weitem Sinne spezifisch, z. B. für alle Typen einer Bakterienart oder noch allgemeiner für z. B. gramnegative oder grampositive Bakterien, oder schließlich ganz unspezifisch.
