Zusammenfassung
Nach. B. F. Howitt, Bishop und Kissling (1, 2) besitzt das Serum gewisser Menschen und Tiere einen Faktor, der das New-Castle-Disease-Virus (NCV) von Hühnern neutralisieren kann, obwohl es nicht gelang, aus Fäzes oder Schleimhautwaschwasser bei den betreffenden Serumspendern das Virus zu erhalten. Ein analoger Faktor wurde von Ginsberg und Horsfall (3) für die hämagglutinationshemmende und virusneutralisierende Fähigkeit normaler Sera gegenüber NCV, Influenza A und B und Mumpsvirus verantwortlich gemacht. Der Faktor war thermolabil (56°), benötigte zur Wirkung Ca∙∙ (2, 3) (s. weiter unten). Er ist nicht mit Komplement identisch, auch nicht mit dem spezifischen Antikörper im Serum spezifisch immunisierter Tiere, der bei 56° nur eine durch Zusatz von frischem Serum reversible Abschwächung erfährt (2). Dieser virulizide Faktor für NCV fand sich im Normalserum von Mensch, Affe, Kaninchen und Meerschweinchen nach Howitt (2) konform mit dem hämolytischen Komplement, fehlte aber im Serum von Frettchen, Hamster und Huhn trotz Gegenwart von hämolytischem Komplement wie auch bei der Maus (Bang, Foard und Karzon) (4) (die zwar wenig, aber doch nachweisbares Komplement besitzt) (McGhee) (4a). Unter normalen Bedingungen bleibt der Antivirusfaktor mit dem Virus verbunden. Mit Zunahme der Kontaktzeit nimmt die Menge des inaktivierten Virus zu. Die Geschwindigkeit der Inaktivierung steigt mit der Temperatur bis 37°.
