Abstract
This article describes the well-known conservatism phenomenon as a systematic deviation from optimal Bayesian inference behavior. It is shown that conservatism can be interpreted as an anchor-effect which can lead to economic relevant disadvantages in sense of high costs of faulty judgments and decisions. In consequence there is a necessity for individual and organizational precautions to compensate this bias.
