Abstract

Uncertainty of data is often modelled by tolerance relations. In this case, methods of formal concept analysis can be applied if the given data context is adequately modified with respect to the assumed tolerance relation. The basic theoretical ideas are demontrated by examples. In particular, conceptual scalings by scales with tolerances are discussed for many-valued contexts. This leads also to methods for analyzing dependencies between many-valued attributes whose values are certain only up to some tolerance relation.
