Abstract
Formaldehyde is one of the important pollutants of indoor air. It is emitted from building material, pieces of furniture, textiles, flooring material, and other sources and is constituent of the smoke of cigarettes. Thus formaldehyde is liable to be found in larger of lesser quantities in the modern housing environment. Therefore its effects on particularly sensitive groups of the population deserves closer investigation. For several years an epidemiological study with 3. class schoolchildren has been carried out.
