Die Zukunft der Telekommunikation in Europa

Abstract

I have been requested to discuss the developments in the Netherlands which resulted in the new status and structure of the Dutch PTT as from January 1, 1989. When invited, I protested to the friendly organisers that I am merely an engineer, a technology professor, and not an economist or a regulator. However, they dismissed this objection with reference to the personal role that I ostensibly played in reshaping this the largest enterprise in The Netherlands.
