Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems ((LNE,volume 310))

Abstract

Problems of hierarchical classification, recognition of particular elements in a population, identification of taxa, automated diagnosis or decision-making can be treated by means of questionnaires, which are particular graphs with some weights, coefficients or characterizations associated with the edges and vertices. They are constructed as efficiently as possible with respect to the constraints due to the considered problem and according to some criteria chosen by the user The uncertainty existing in the concerned data may be managed in a probablistic or fuzzy framework.
