Bulk ZnSe: Linear Transmission to Damage Through Dispersive Bistability and Absorptive Switching

Abstract

We report at room temperature the first observation of successive refractive and absorptive bistability in uncoated bulk ZnSe at 35 mW and 300 mW respectively. The results are consistent with the observed thermal shift of the interband absorption and the index coefficient.
