Abstract
Important progress has been made in ultrafast optoelectronics where sources, modulators, and transducers have demonstrated response well in the picosecond and subpicosecond regime. In addition, some recent works have demonstrated the important role that ultrafast optoelectronics could play in electronics. We review and discuss some of the latest accomplishments made in this fast evolving field.
