Etant donnés deux fluides non miscibles (eau et huile par exemple), on s’intéresse au déplacement de l’un des fluides par l’autre au sein d’un milieu poreux. Les applications pratiques de ce phénomène sont nombreuses dans l’industrie pétrolière (injection d’eau dans les gisements pour récupérer l’huile).
