Abstract
If we consider, from the general viewpoint of ligand-protein interaction, which properties of a steroid molecule* have particular relevance to its interaction with a protein, three characteristics appear to be important:

electrostatic charge, if any;

2)
“polarity”, i.e., number of polar substituents;

3)
stereochemical configuration.
