Suxamethonium Arrhythmias and its Prevention in Man

Abstract

It is well known that the intermittent intravenous administration of suxamethonium frequently causes bradycardia, arrhythmia or transient cardiac asystole, which could be a fatal outcome during general anesthesia. The effects of several agents on the ECG changes followed by suxamethonium administration were investigated clinically.
