Zusammenfassung
Ein aus äquimolaren Mengen von N-Acetylglukosamin, D-Galaktose und Sulfat bestehendes Mukopolysaecharid wurde in unserem Labor aus Rindercornea isoliert und Keratosulfat benannt (1). Es wurde weiterhin von Gardell und Rastgeldi aus Zwischenwirbelscheiben und in unserem Labor aus Knorpel isoliert (2). Anscheinend kommt es im Knorpel nicht nur in Säugern, sondern in Knochen- und Knorpelfischen, in Cyclostomen und Cephalopoden vor. Das Keratosulfat liegt in allen Geweben immer als Protein-Komplex vor, und zwar in ähnlicher Kovalenz-Bindung wie bei den übrigen geschwefelten Mukopolysacchariden.
