Abstract
As was pointed out in Chapter 2, functional specification of discrete choice models means either the specification of a distribution function from which choice probabilities can be computed, or the specification of a set of choice probabilities for which the compatibility conditions (2.10)–(2.12) must be checked. This chapter reviews the most important specifications of discrete choice models, using the first or the second approach as it is convenient.
