Summary
Intracoronary infusions of adenosine deaminase have been used to test the hypothesis that adenosine regulates coronary blood flow. This paper critically reviews the technique of intra-arterial adenosine deaminase infusions and describes other examples of the use of this enzyme to assess the participation of adenosine in cardiovascular regulation.
