Metabolism of Inorganic Nitrogen Compounds

Part of the Progress in Botany/Fortschritte der Botanik book series (BOTANY, volume 47)

Abstract

The need for new books on (di) nitrogen fixation apparently continues. The book edited by ALEXANDER (1984) emphasizes ecological aspects, particularly in the tropics. Proceedings from meetings were edited by VEEGER and NEWTON (1984), MÜLLER and NEWTON (1983) and LUDDEN and BURRIS (1985). An outstanding book covering the whole field of nitrogen metabolism in plants was written in German by MÜNTZ (1984). This monograph mainly treats organic nitrogen metabolism with broad coverage, but suffers from being partly out of date (the literature is reviewed only up to approx. the middle of 1981).
