Reproductive Structures of the Flowering Plants

Abstract

This report deals with results on floral structure and evolution. Since pollination biology is the topic of another section, functional aspects of structure related to pollination are not covered here. However, other form-function relations such as stigma and pollen tube transmitting tract are considered. Nevertheless, the most successful way to elucidate floral evolution would be a synthetic consideration of the interrelations between structure and physiological and ecological functions that could permit working out the intrinsic and extrinsic constraints shaping the forms.
