Abstract

Volume 10 (1984, ed.: SCOTT), and Volume 11 (1985, eds.: PHARIS and REID) of the Encyclopedia of Plant Physiology, New Series cover the hormonal regulation in the whole plant and the role of environmental factors on the hormonal system. A book on modern methods of analyzing plant growth substances and on metabolic pathways has been edited by HILLMAN and CROZIER (1984). WILKINS (1984) edited an Advanced Plant Physiology which includes many modern aspects on plant hormones. The current status of immunoassay techniques for plant growth regulators has been reviewed by WEILER (1984). An excellent summary on plant hormone conjugates has been published by SCHLIEMANN and LIEBISCH (1984). TREWAWAS and CLELAND (1983) continued the discussion whether plant development is regulated by changes in the concentration of growth substances or by changes in the sensitivity to growth substances.
