Abstract
The contributions to the symposium have shown the problems which arise when developing programmes for early detection, the listing starting points for their solution and the questions still left open. In a final discussion a selection of the mentioned problems and the suggested solutions has been debated and the list of open questions has been enlarged by some additional ones.
