Abstract
The paper presents the method of creating computer systems designed to arrange time-tables of miscallenuous means of transport. It is generally known that each new time-table for such haulage contractors, as for instance the Polish State Railways, the Polish Motor Transport or the Polish Airlines ‘LOT’, has been still ‘handmade’. Each new time-table is arranged on the basis of the previous one taking into account all current and necessary corrections which result from socially legitimate passenger flows. New time-table arrangements are made during special conferences devoted to them which last about 5 to 6 weeks usually. Such procedure is, however, both work- and time-consuming and calls for a qualified staff to be involved as well. Application of computer system is, in that case, of great advantage obviously. So attempts has been made at working out such a system.
