Zusammenfassung

Infektionen der Haut, des Unterhautzellgewebes sowie der Lymphknoten haben durch die moderne Chemotherapie an Bedeutung verloren. Halsphlegmone, Re-tropharyngealabsceß und spezifische wie unspezifische eitrige Lymphknotenerkrankungen sind seltene Krankheitsbilder geworden, keinesfalls jedoch ausgestorben. Lebensbedrohliche (Neumann, 1970) und tödliche Verläufe (Wey, 1970) kommen auch heute noch vor.
