Abstract
Adipose-derived stem cells are an excellent multipotent stem cell candidate because they are abundant, plastic easily harvested, highly proliferative, sand are robust enough to withstand lengthy culture periods. When grown as scaffold-free three-dimensional spheroids, these benefits are amplified. The three-dimensional architecture increases the clinical usefulness of these cells by making them more adaptable to harsh environments and by amplifying the paracrine effects of their secretome.
