Zusammenfassung

Alle Speicheldrüsen – die paarig angelegten großen Kopfspeicheldrüsen und die zahlreichen kleinen Speicheldrüsen – können von einer Vielzahl von Erkrankungen befallen werden: entzündliche, infektiöse, systemisch-entzündliche, obstruktive (durch Strikturen oder Steine) und neoplastische Erkrankungen. Mittelpunkt der Bildgebung sind die insgesamt seltenen Speicheldrüsenneoplasien. Die Vielfältigkeit benigner und maligner neoplastischer Prozesse der Speicheldrüsen ist größer als an anderen Organsystemen. Aufgrund der oberflächlichen Lage der großen Kopfspeicheldrüsen wird als erstes bildgebendes Verfahren in der Regel die Sonografie eingesetzt. In welchen Situationen MRT und CT weiterführende therapierelevante Informationen liefern können, ist ein wesentlicher Gesichtspunkt dieses Kapitels.
