Zusammenfassung
Mit einer Inzidenz von etwa 10 % gehören die durch humane Papillomaviren hervorgerufenen Warzen zu den häufigsten infektiösen Hauterkrankungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen. Eine Übertragung ist sowohl über direkten Kontakt von Mensch zu Mensch als auch über kontaminierte Fußböden/Untergründe oder Gegenstände möglich.
Das Behandlungsspektrum der kosmetisch meist störenden, gelegentlich aber auch schmerzhaften und funktionell beeinträchtigenden Hautveränderungen erstreckt sich über Suggestiv-, Lokal- und Lasertherapien bis hin zu systemischen Behandlungen mit verschiedenen oral zu verabreichenden Arzneimitteln.
