Zusammenfassung

In Deutschland werden derzeit auf ca. 90 % der Intensivstationen Tracheotomien innerhalb der ersten 14 Beatmungstage durchgeführt. Auf 86 % der Intensivstationen kommt die perkutane Dilatationstracheotomie routinemäßig zum Einsatz, wobei die modifizierte Dilatationstechnik nach Ciaglia (Einschrittdilatation) am häufigsten angewendet wird (69 %). 98 % dieser Prozeduren werden unter bronchoskopischer Kontrolle durchgeführt.
