Ungläubiges Staunen löste ein 57-jähriger Mann aus, als er sich, beunruhigt durch knirschende Geräusche im rechten Auge, zur Notfallkonsultation vorstellte. Als pensionierter Ingenieur hatte er sich in den letzten drei Monaten bei seinem Bruder in Brasilien aufgehalten, wo er unter äußerst einfachen Bedingungen gelebt hatte.
