Zusammenfassung
Bei primär generalisierten Anfällen breitet sich die Anfallserregung blitzartig über das ganze Gehirn aus. An der Entstehung dieser Anfälle sind eine kortikale Hyperexzitabilität und abnorme Impulse von Hirnstammstrukturen in gleicher Weise beteiligt. Diese Form von epileptischen Paroxysmen äußert sich in charakteristischen Anfallsbildern, denen das Fehlen fokaler Symptome gemeinsam ist. Hierzu zählen primär generalisierte tonisch-klonische Anfälle und primär generalisierte kleine Anfälle, d. h. myoklonische, aton-astatische und myoklonisch-atone Anfälle sowie Absencen.
