Eine Klassifikation epileptischer Phänomene kann sowohl anhand der Anfallssymptomatik als auch der Ätiologie erfolgen. Die Grenzen zwischen diesen beiden Ordnungsmodalitäten sind aber nicht immer scharf zu ziehen.
