Abstract
Important to establish a meticulous patient’s history: When? Where? How? Perform a peripheral neurovascular examination (distal status): Assess sensory functions radially and ulnarly, motility and peripheral pulses/skin tissue perfusion! Examine the separate functions of the profundus and superficialis tendons, as well as the extensor tendons. All of the above-mentioned examinations must be done before anaesthesia. For skin lesions: Cover up with remaining skin since the own skin is always the best dressing.
