Abstract

The most common elbow complaint and the most common enthesopathy (tendon insertion pain) of the entire body. On the whole, it is one of the most common conditions of the musculoskeletal system, both the prevalence and incidence of 1–2 % of the adult population. The highest incidence is seen in the age 40–50 span. The term “tennis elbow” is in fact somewhat dubious, or a misnomer, since the clinical patient group triggered by tennis playing only makes up for a very small part (although it is quite common for tennis players as such).
