Abstract

The most common shoulder disorder (44–65 %). May be synonymous to rotator cuff impingement, subacromial bursitis, supraspinatus syndrome, but not “supraspinatus tendinitis”, i.e. inflammatory, other than in the acute phase (5–20 days, possibly). Anterosuperior shoulder pain, often radiating down laterally in the proximal part of the upper arm. Note: aching at rest, often typical nocturnal pain, as well as difficulties in lying on the affected shoulder.
