Zusammenfassung
Die wichtigsten Hormone des Nebennierenmarks sind die physiologisch aktiven Katecholamine Dopamin, Noradrenalin und Adrenalin. Bei Erkrankungen des Nebennierenmarks, die mit einer erhöhten Produktion der Katecholamine verbunden sind, ist die Variationsbreite der Symptome durch die unterschiedlichen Wirkspektren der Hormone bedingt.
Primäre Erkrankungen des Nebennierenmarks sind:
- Neuroblastom,
- Ganglioneurom,
- Phäochromozytom.
Verkalkungen im Bereich des Nebennierenmarks, die gelegentlich bei Röntgenuntersuchungen des Abdomens auffallen, können auf Affektionen des Nebennierenmarks hinweisen, wie z. B. die perinatale Nebennierenblutung infolge Anoxämie oder Trauma bzw. eine durchgemachte Tuberkulose. Beidseitige Verkalkungen der Nebennieren sind charakteristisch für die Wolman-Erkrankung oder für eine überstandene Nebennierenblutung. Auch die Tumore der Nebenniere können durch Verkalkungen gekennzeichnet sein, fallen jedoch eher durch klinische Symptome auf.
